Stein Dietrichson

Stein Dietrichson has been working with development projects concerning ice problems on windmills since 2008, and a key-person behind the inception of Icesolution.

Stein Dietrichson graduated from Vienna in 1973 as a plastics engineer with additional education in sales and marketing. He has wide experience from sales and marketing of plastic raw materials and finished products from German, English and Norwegian multinational companies. In addition he has worked as factory manager for one of the leading Norwegian pipe producing companies, as well as for a leading Scandinavian producer of thermoplastic road marking materials.

Dr. Joachim Karthäuser

Head of Development / CTO

Joachim Karthäuser is Ph.D. chemist and has worked internationally in petrochemicals R&D, quality management, sales, business development and management for multinational companies such as Shell, NKT and AGA/ Linde Gas, and more recently in start-up companies including SiOx Machines AB and Climeon AB.

Joachim has been working with deicing projects for a long time and is one of the inventors of deicing with nano-coatings heated by microwaves.

Paal Skybak


Paal is educated chemical engineer and has been working with polymers and especially epoxies since 1973. Paal has earlier been working with R&D-management on coatings and epoxy formulation in Re-Turn AS and Advanced Marine Coatings AS. He has worked with chemical distribution for a number of years, representing various companies like Ciba Geigy, Shell, Air Products, etc. The focus has been on civil engineering –, coating- and composite markets.

Paal has been working with nano-technology since 2005.

Mikael Nordeng

Coating Technology Manager

Mikael Nordeng is responsible for the development of the nano-coatings utilized in IceSolutions deicing technology.

Mikael Nordeng has a master’s degree in electronics, specifically nanoelectronics and micro systems, from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2011. There he specialized in working with semiconductor technology and he has experience with methods and equipment connected with working in clean room environment, such as scanning electron microscopy and electron beam lithography.
